What Coached by Cherrie collects about you, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it — in plain words, without marketing. Your health information has a policy of its own, linked below.
Your health answers, training logs, check-ins, cycle logs, what you log in Nutrition, body composition and your conversations with Cherrie are covered by our health information policy. It says what we collect about your health, why, who handles it and how to delete it. This policy covers everything else. If anything here seems to promise less than that policy, that policy applies.
If you join the waitlist. Your name, email and state; if you choose to answer, which way you'd use Cherrie, whether you've worked with a trainer or coach, what's made you quit before, which fitness tracker you wear and how you heard about us; and, if the link that brought you had a campaign tag on it, that tag. We use your name and email only to tell you about Cherrie and the beta. Your other answers tell us what to build and get right first, and how you heard about us and the campaign tag tell us which ways of telling people about Cherrie work. Our email list provider, Kit, keeps the waitlist. Joining it shows you're interested; it doesn't hold a place. Every email from it has a one-click way to leave.
If you pay the deposit. First, our places page asks which state you live in, to check the beta is available there; your answer isn't kept. Then our payment processor, Stripe, takes your $21 deposit on its own checkout page, with your name, email, billing address and card details. Stripe tells us your name, email and billing address, a reference for the payment, and when you paid. We keep your email, your billing state, the payment's reference and when you paid, and use them to give you your place, to check you live in a state where the beta is available, to email you and to send your refund; when we send it, we keep whether it has gone back. We never see or keep your card number.
Your account. Your email. There's no password: to sign in, you enter your email and we email you a six-digit code that works once, for 10 minutes. We make the code and check it ourselves, and keep it only in scrambled form. Once your code is right, our sign-in provider, Supabase, starts your session. We keep who has a place in the beta (members who paid the deposit, and testers we invited), when you were invited and set up your account, and the reference Supabase gives your sign-in, so deleting your account deletes your sign-in too.
What you agreed to. When you set up your account, you check four boxes: that you're 18 or over, that you live in the state you chose, that you agree to our Terms of Service and this policy, and that you agree Cherrie uses the health information you give, including about your menstrual cycle, to shape your training. A fifth box is up to you: whether we may also use your health answers, with your name taken off, to make Cherrie better for every woman; the health policy explains it. We keep the words you agreed to, their version, your state and when, so we can show you in Settings and ask again if those words change in a way that matters.
Using the app. What you save in the app is kept with your account, so it's there on any device you sign in on; the health policy says what that includes. To run the beta, we also keep:
If you send feedback or email us. What you write in Beta feedback comes to us with your email, so we can reply. Emails to hello@coachedbycherrie.com, including replies to Cherrie's emails, arrive in our inbox at Google (Google Workspace). We use them to answer you and to fix what's wrong.
If you turn on notifications. Your browser gives us an address for your phone's notifications and two keys to encrypt them with, which we keep while they work.
If you turn on texts. Your mobile number; the code that confirmed it, kept only in scrambled form; when you said yes and the exact wording you agreed to; whether texts are on or stopped; and what you text back. Texts from Cherrie, below, says more.
Messages we send you. A record of each reminder and note we send you by notification, text or email — what it was, when and which way it went, and for a notification, whether your phone showed it and whether you tapped or cleared it — so nothing goes twice, we can tell when one doesn't reach you, and a quiet-day note you've tapped or cleared, or answered by opening the app, isn't followed by a text or an email. For the beta's one question, we also use it, counted only in totals, to see how often a quiet-day note was followed by a session within two days, and how many members had a reminder or check-in reach them in their first week.
If you post in Cherrie's Corner. Your display name, which starts as the first name you gave Cherrie (with your last initial, if you gave your last name) and which you can change; your posts and replies; which posts you marked Useful; and any post you report. Every signed-in member of the beta sees your posts and replies under your display name, never your email. The health policy explains the posts we read before they appear, and the tips Cherrie may pass on.
If you add a photo or a picture. Your phone first makes it smaller and saves it again, which leaves out where it was taken and the other details a camera writes into a photo; our server takes out any it finds anyway. Before it appears, Cherrie's AI checks it against the photo rules for Cherrie's Corner (in our Terms of Service); if it isn't sure, we look at it ourselves. We keep the picture, and whether it's up, waiting or hidden, in Cloudflare's storage, and show it only to signed-in members of the beta. It's deleted when you delete the post or the picture, or your account.
If you film a set for Cherrie to watch. Before your first one, you agree once to how Cherrie watches; you can see it in Settings, under What you agreed to, and delete your form checks there, which takes your agreement back too. Your video stays on your phone; we never receive it. On your phone, Cherrie follows the points of your body through each frame, from your shoulders down (the points it finds on your head are used only to blur your face in the stills, and are thrown away as each frame is read), and measures your set: your reps, how long each took, how deep you went, the weight's path, and how your knees and hips moved. Three stills from the video, cropped to you and with your face blurred on your phone first, go with those measurements to Cherrie's AI, only to write Cherrie's answer, and we don't keep them. We keep the measurements and Cherrie's answer with your sessions. Nothing from your video is used to recognize you. The model that reads it runs on your phone, loaded from our own site, and sends nothing to anyone.
If you offer a quote. When your 12 weeks are up, Cherrie may ask, once, whether you'd write a sentence about them that we may quote on our website. Only if you write one and check the box do we keep it, with the name it would show (your first name and last initial) and when you agreed. We read each one before it's used anywhere, use your words exactly as you wrote them, never with your weight, measurements or photos, and give nothing in exchange. Saying no changes nothing. To take yours down, tell us in Beta feedback.
To keep accounts safe. To stop anyone guessing sign-in codes, we count the codes asked for each email address, by the hour and by the day, and from each IP address (the address your device uses on the internet), by the hour; and the tries at each code, and from each IP address by the hour.
Every time you visit. Like any website, ours receives your IP address and browser details with each request. Our host, Cloudflare, handles them to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't keep logs of your visits ourselves. Our pages' typefaces come from our own site, so loading them tells no one else you visited.
We use two cookies, and only to keep you signed in: cb_at, which holds your session for up to a day, and cb_rt, which renews it for up to 30 days. They're only ever sent to coachedbycherrie.com, and the page itself can't read them. Signing out deletes both.
If your session runs out while you have changes the app hasn't saved yet, it keeps them in your browser's session storage until you sign back in. Session storage empties when you close the tab.
There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing on our site follows you to other sites. Stripe's checkout page and Kit's sign-up form may set cookies of their own, under their own policies.
Analytics. On our public pages (the home page, the questions page, the places page and these policies), we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, from our host, Cloudflare. It sees which page was visited, the site that sent you there, and your browser, device type and country. It uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and doesn't follow you to other sites, and we see only totals. There's no analytics tool in the app.
Cherrie's texts are optional. They come from Coached by Cherrie, run by Renna Labs, LLC, through our text provider, Twilio. To turn them on, you add your US mobile number in Settings, check a box that's never checked for you, and confirm the number with a code. The box says:
We never sell or share your mobile number, or your texting opt-in and consent, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your texting opt-in and consent are never shared with any third party. Twilio receives your number and each text only to deliver them for us. The Terms of Service set out the texting program in full.
These companies process information for us, only to run Coached by Cherrie and only under contract. What each receives of your health information is in the health policy.
One more receives a little: USDA FoodData Central, the US Department of Agriculture's public food database, receives the words you search for in Nutrition and nothing about you.
If you talk to Cherrie instead of typing, your browser turns what you say into text, and depending on your browser, its maker (Google, Apple or Microsoft) may do that on its own servers, under its own terms; Listen reads replies aloud in your device's voices, some of which come from the same services. Beyond these, we share information only if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. If Renna Labs is ever merged or sold, your information would move only under this policy's promises, and we'd tell you before it did, so you could delete your account first.
To run the beta, our view of it shows who's in; when each member paid, was invited and set up, and the state on her payment; whether her deposit has gone back; when she last opened the app; for each of the beta's 12 weeks, whether she trained in it and whether she stayed in touch with Cherrie, only that she did; whether texts are on and how many phones get notifications; feedback; quotes and whether each is approved; Cherrie's Corner posts waiting to be read or reported, with who wrote them, and any photo with them; profile pictures waiting for a look or reported; and why Cherrie held a photo, including that it may show self-harm. Beyond those weeks, it shows nothing from any one member's health answers, logs or conversations. For the beta's one question, it shows how many members are on track and, once the 12 weeks are over, consistent; and, only as totals from 20 women or more, the answers to Cherrie's first-week question about the 12 weeks before the beta and to its two week-12 questions, and how often a quiet-day note was followed by training. For the beta's first week, once, on January 14, 2027, and only as totals from 20 women or more: how many members, by their seventh day, had their plan shaped by a first-week answer, a change made for their week, a reminder or check-in at their time, their choice of how they eat and an answer from Coach, and how many had all five. To make Cherrie better, it also shows totals, with names taken off: of every member's training, and of the health answers of members who said yes (a change to a plan made because of a health answer counts as one). Never one member's information, never a total from fewer than 20 women, and never one that could be worked out from other totals. We look at anything else you've saved only if you ask us to, to fix something that's broken, or if the law requires it. Today one person, who runs Renna Labs, can reach our database and our providers' accounts, each behind two-step sign-in.
Choose Delete my account at the bottom of Settings, and we delete from our database straight away: your account, everything you've saved, your posts and replies (with any replies to your posts), your feedback, your quote, your number, your notification subscriptions, the record of messages we sent you, what you agreed to at setup and the counts that protect your sign-in. Our sign-in provider deletes your sign-in too. Before anything is deleted, the app shows you what goes and asks you to check a box to confirm, and it only tells you your account is deleted once it is. If our sign-in provider or our storage doesn't answer at that moment, we keep only the reference to what's left, never your email, and try again every hour until it's gone.
One thing stays for a while. If you paid a deposit, it still goes back to your card on March 29, 2027, with everyone's. We keep your email and a note that it's owed to you for 60 days, and after that only the payment's reference, without your email, with our payment records, so we can still send it.
Our host keeps backups so the database can be restored after a fault, and what you deleted is gone from them within 30 days. Stripe keeps its payment records as the law requires. Brevo keeps its record of the emails we sent you for one month, and Twilio its record of your texts for 30 days (anything you text besides GO, LATER, DONE, SKIP, HELP, START or STOP, and any photo or video, we delete from Twilio as soon as it reaches us), as Who else handles it says. Your health information is deleted as the health policy says.
Email hello@coachedbycherrie.com for any of these. We'll reply within 30 days, and we'll never treat you differently for asking. If the law where you live gives you more rights over your information, ask, and we'll honor them.
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Your session cookies can't be read by the page or sent to other sites; sign-in codes and text codes are kept only in scrambled form; notifications are encrypted so only your phone can read them; and the site only ever reads or saves your data for your own account. No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we'll tell you promptly, as the law requires.
Coached by Cherrie is for adults aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and if we learn we have, we delete it.
During the beta, Coached by Cherrie is available in the United States except California, Washington, Nevada and Connecticut. Your account and what you save are kept in North America; where each of our providers keeps what it receives is in Who else handles it, above.
We'll tell you, by email and in the app, before we change this policy in a way that matters to you, and the date at the top will change. If a change means using your information in a new way, we'll ask you first.
